GRAPHIC DESIGNER EDMONTON
DEPARTMENT: Marketing
REPORTING TO: Marketing Manager
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Durabuilt Windows & Doors is seeking a highly motivated, creative individual to fill the role of Graphic Designer at our head office in Edmonton. Responsible for design and authoring of print, the Graphic Designer will work on a diverse portfolio of consumer, trade and internal marketing projects. This is a permanent, full-time position.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Create designs, concepts, and sample layouts based on knowledge of layout principles and esthetic design concepts
- Determine size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, and select style and size of type
- Mark up, paste, and assemble final layouts to prepare layouts for printers
- Draw and print charts, graphs, illustrations, and other artwork
- Review final layouts and suggest improvements as needed.
- Conceptualize and design print collateral materials including catalogues, advertisements and flyers
- Provide design concepts for in-store displays, signage and other POS materials
- Develop electronic news letters, catalogue platforms and training tools
- Present design concepts, trends, insights and other relevant information in a clear and concise manner
- Other internal and external graphic design requests as required
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Exceptional experience in applying graphic design principles to produce innovative, corporate print and web materials
- Diploma/Certificate in Graphic Arts from an accredited institute combined with two plus years related work experience
- Advanced level Adobe Creative Suite 3 experience on a PC platform
- Diverse portfolio of print development experience
- Ability to multi-task and constantly prioritize in a fast-paced industry
- Positive, can-do attitude and strong sense of accountability
- Creative eye and innovative thinker
- Background in construction or retail merchandising is an asset
