Edmonton manufacturer named 2026 ENERGY STAR Manufacturer of the Year for Fenestration Products and Promotional Campaign of the Year, officially being recognized as best in class by the Canadian Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources.

EDMONTON, AB, OCTOBER 6 2026 — Durabuilt Windows & Doors has been officially recognized with two national ENERGY STAR® Canada awards for the second year in a row. Durabuilt has been awarded the 2026 ENERGY STAR Manufacturer of the Year for Fenestration Products and the 2026 ENERGY STAR Promotional Campaign of the Year after winning the same national awards in 2025.

These awards are presented by Natural Resources Canada, the federal department led by the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources. Winners are selected after a national application period that recognizes the top manufacturers inthe country. Durabuilt Windows & Doors is aprivately owned Canadian company based in Edmonton. Winning both awards twoyears in a row makes it one of the most recognized fenestration manufacturersin the ENERGY STAR Canada program and a standard for the industry as a whole.

These are Durabuilt's fourth and fifth ENERGY STAR Canada awards. The company received Special Recognition in 2024, then won Manufacturer of the Year for Fenestration Products and PromotionalCampaign of the Year in both 2025 and 2026.

"We do not take this for granted," said Harry Sunner, CEO of Durabuilt Windows & Doors. "There are much larger manufacturers in this program, and any one of them could have won. We just try to build the best window we know how to build, and to keep getting better at it. Being recognized twice in a row is humbling. I would like to recognize our wholeteam and congratulate them on this achievement. Every department has ahand in this, from the plant floor to engineering to the people who install thewindows and doors. It also goes to the dealers, builders, contractors, partners and homeowners who trust us with theirprojects."

A national program built with local partners

The 2026 awards recognize work carried out in 2025. That year Durabuilt shipped over 90,000 ENERGY STAR® certified window products across Canada. The company introduced the ENERGY STAR® Most Efficient and High Efficiency symbols on qualifying products, so homeowners can spot the highest performing options at a glance.

Reaching those homeowners took a coordinated national effort. Durabuilt worked with hundreds of retail and dealer locations in nearly 200 Canadian communities to promote ENERGY STAR® certified products. The company expanded into British Columbia through new dealer partnerships and premium Delta Fiberglass product lines, with further provincial growth planned.

Durabuilt also worked to put higher efficiency windows within reach of more homeowners. Two Free Triple Pane Upgrade campaigns, one in spring and one in winter, made triple pane available as a complimentary upgrade. The company helped homeowners access the Canada Greener Homes Loan by connecting them with the pre-retrofit energy evaluation the program requires.

"Most people buy windows once or twicein their whole life," said Henny Sunner, Director of Marketing and Renovation Channel at Durabuilt Windows & Doors. "It is a big decision, and the information can get overwhelming fast. Our goal was to make theefficient choice, the easy choice. If a family ends up in a more comfortablehome with a lower energy bill, the campaign did its job."

Every Durabuilt window and door is built to meet or exceed ENERGY STAR standards. From the Alpha and Omega window lines to the premium DeltaFiberglass line, every product is engineered to reduce energy loss, improveyear-round comfort, and help Canadian homeowners save on heating and coolingcosts.

"Two years in a row sets the standard we musthold now," says Henny Sunner. "We are growing in British Columbia, and the goal remains the same. A homeowner should be able to walk into any dealer we work with, get a straight answer, and end up with a window that isefficient and genuinely well made. Efficiency matters, so does how the windowlooks and how long it lasts."
